Key Responsibilities
- Conduct genetic research to develop disease-resistant and high-yield crop varieties.
- Collaborate with local farmers and institutions to implement biotechnology solutions.
- Analyze data to optimize agricultural practices and environmental sustainability.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on global biotechnology trends and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Expertise in molecular biology, plant genetics, or related fields.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and data analysis software.
- Strong project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Knowledge of Rwandan agricultural policies and challenges.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
Education
Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Agricultural Science, or a related discipline. A PhD is a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in agricultural research, preferably in biotechnology or sustainable farming. Prior experience in Rwanda or East Africa is advantageous.
Salary
3,500,000 – 5,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
