Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Forestry Specialist to join our team in Gakenke, Rwanda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry and conservation efforts in Rwanda.

The Digital Forestry Specialist will work closely with our team of foresters, conservationists, and IT specialists to design and implement digital tools and systems that support our forestry and conservation goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry and conservation efforts in Rwanda
  • Design and implement digital tools and systems to support data collection, analysis, and visualization
  • Work with our team of foresters and conservationists to develop and implement digital solutions to support forest management and conservation
  • Collaborate with our IT team to design and implement digital systems to support data management and analysis
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and private sector partners

Required Skills

  • Strong technical skills in digital forestry and conservation, including experience with GIS, remote sensing, and data analysis
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working in a developing country context
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field

Experience

5-7 years of experience in digital forestry and conservation, with a focus on developing and implementing digital solutions to support forestry and conservation efforts

Salary

5,000,000 – 7,000,000 SSP per annum
