Job Overview

The Environmental Monitoring and Reporting Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing environmental monitoring programs, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports to inform conservation efforts. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, monitoring, and reporting, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement environmental monitoring programs to track conservation progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Collect and analyze data on environmental indicators, including water quality, soil health, and biodiversity
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including WWF-Rwanda staff, partners, and donors
  • Collaborate with other WWF-Rwanda teams to integrate environmental monitoring into conservation planning and implementation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental monitoring and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with large datasets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda

Education

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in environmental monitoring and reporting
