Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive longitudinal studies on endemic fish species and aquatic flora in the Lake Kivu basin.
• Lead the development of biodiversity monitoring protocols to track the health of freshwater ecosystems.
• Collaborate with the Rwandan Ministry of Environment to draft legislation regarding protected aquatic zones.
• Manage multi-million dollar grants and ensure the efficient allocation of resources for field research.
• Mentor junior biologists and researchers, fostering a pipeline of local expertise in limnology.

Required Skills

Education

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of post-doctoral experience in aquatic research is required. Candidates must demonstrate a history of leading successful conservation projects in tropical or subtropical freshwater environments. Experience in Rwanda Jobs or similar East African contexts is highly preferred.
