Job Description

Kivu Choice is hiring an Assistant Finance Manager in Kigali, Rwanda, for a leading role within its fast-growing aquaculture business. This position is ideal for professionals seeking finance jobs in Rwanda, FP&A roles, or accounting careers in East Africa. Kivu Choice is Rwanda’s largest protein producer and one of Africa’s fastest-growing aquaculture companies, operating a fully integrated model across production, processing, and distribution. The Assistant Finance Manager will support financial planning, reporting, and operational finance activities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the FP&A Manager in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with IFRS
  • Coordinate month-end close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
  • Perform month-end valuation of balance sheet accounts in line with IAS 21
  • Oversee invoice processing, ensuring proper verification, coding, and matching with purchase orders
  • Manage vendor relationships, including dispute resolution and payment inquiries
  • Ensure payments comply with internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with sales and customers to resolve billing and pricing issues
  • Prepare AP/AR aging reports, cash flow projections, and KPI dashboards
  • Supervise, train, and mentor AP/AR staff and conduct performance evaluations
  • Support any additional finance-related tasks assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or CIMA) completed or in final stages
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial reporting, FP&A, or external audit
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, ERPNext, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
