Job Overview
This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional seeking to advance mineral processing operations in Rwanda’s mining sector. The role involves optimizing extraction techniques, supervising processing teams, and ensuring compliance with international safety and environmental standards. Candidates will contribute to AngloGold Ashanti’s mission of responsible mining while gaining exposure to cutting-edge mineral processing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement mineral processing workflows to maximize gold recovery rates
- Monitor and maintain processing equipment, including crushers, flotation cells, and leaching tanks
- Analyze ore samples to determine optimal processing parameters
- Collaborate with geologists and metallurgists to improve extraction efficiency
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Prepare technical reports on processing performance and operational challenges
Required Skills
- Proficiency in mineral processing software (e.g., HSC Chemistry, JKSimMet)
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting metallurgical data
- Experience with mineral processing equipment maintenance
- Excellent problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments
- Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management standards
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree in Mineral Processing is a distinct advantage.
Experience
3-5 years of progressive experience in mineral processing operations, preferably in gold mining environments. Prior experience with AngloGold Ashanti or similar multinational mining firms is highly desirable.
Salary
3,500,000 SSP – 5,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
