Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Twin Implementation Specialist to join our growing team in Nyamagabe. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing digital twin solutions for manufacturing facilities across various sectors. A digital twin is a virtual representation of a physical product, process, or system that enables simulation, analysis, and optimization throughout its lifecycle. You will work directly with clients to understand their operational challenges, develop customized digital twin architectures, and implement solutions that drive tangible business value. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and client-facing capabilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect digital twin solutions for manufacturing processes, production lines, and industrial equipment
  • Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for digital twin implementations
  • Develop simulation models that accurately represent physical systems using Siemens software platforms including NX, Teamcenter, and Simcenter
  • Integrate digital twin solutions with existing enterprise systems including ERP, MES, and IoT platforms
  • Configure real-time data connections between physical assets and their digital counterparts using industrial IoT protocols
  • Conduct virtual commissioning of manufacturing systems before physical implementation to identify and resolve potential issues
  • Develop predictive maintenance algorithms and failure mode simulations using digital twin data analytics
  • Train client teams on digital twin operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Monitor and optimize digital twin performance post-implementation, ensuring ongoing accuracy and value generation
  • Document implementation processes, technical configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing
  • Stay current with emerging digital twin technologies, standards, and industry applications
  • Participate in pre-sales activities including solution demonstrations, technical presentations, and proposal development

Required Skills

  • Expertise in digital twin technologies, industrial simulation, and virtual commissioning methodologies
  • Proficiency with Siemens Digital Industries Software products including NX, Teamcenter, Simcenter, and MindSphere
  • Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages for simulation model development
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, PROFINET) and IoT platforms
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial automation systems, and production methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a systematic approach to complex technical challenges
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading technical implementations
  • Effective communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams in dynamic environments
  • Business acumen to connect technical solutions with client business objectives and ROI

Education

A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Additional certifications in digital twin technologies, simulation software, or industrial IoT platforms are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate continuous learning in emerging technologies relevant to digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in digital twin technology implementation, industrial simulation, or advanced manufacturing systems. Must have hands-on experience with at least three complete digital twin implementation projects from design to deployment. Experience working in manufacturing environments and collaborating with engineering teams is essential. Prior experience in consulting or client-facing technical roles is preferred. Knowledge of Rwanda’s manufacturing sector and industrial development priorities is advantageous.
