We are seeking an Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in Nyagatare, Rwanda. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments and developing strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of human activities on the environment.
Job Overview
The Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments and developing strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of human activities on the environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and experience in conducting environmental impact assessments.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and have a strong commitment to conservation and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments to identify potential negative impacts of human activities on the environment
- Develop strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of human activities on the environment
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement environmental impact assessment findings and recommendations
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on environmental impact assessment and management
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong commitment to conservation and sustainability
