Job Overview

We are seeking a Digital Forestry Specialist to join our team in Huye, Rwanda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry and conservation efforts in Rwanda.

The Digital Forestry Specialist will work closely with our forestry team to design and implement digital tools and platforms to monitor and manage forest health, track deforestation, and engage local communities in conservation efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry, conservation, and digital technologies, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry and conservation efforts in Rwanda
  • Design and implement digital tools and platforms to monitor and manage forest health, track deforestation, and engage local communities in conservation efforts
  • Work closely with our forestry team to develop and implement conservation plans and strategies
  • Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote conservation efforts and engage local communities in forest management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local partners and stakeholders to support conservation efforts

Required Skills

  • Strong background in forestry, conservation, and digital technologies
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field

Experience

8-12 years of experience in forestry, conservation, and digital technologies

Salary

1,200,000 – 1,800,000 SSP per year
