Job Overview
The Deputy Director of Operations – EPO Media House is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing media operations, driving content quality, managing teams, and ensuring sustainable revenue growth. The position plays a key role in strengthening EPO’s media platforms, enhancing audience engagement, and supporting strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Media Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of all media platforms including ISANO Community Radio, PPCM, Getlink, and digital channels.
- Ensure smooth coordination of broadcasting schedules and multimedia production.
- Monitor operational performance and audience engagement metrics.
- Supervise technical operations including studio management and content distribution.
- Coordinate roadshows, live events, and community outreach programs.
2. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and supervise journalists, presenters, producers, and technical teams.
- Support staff development, training, and performance management.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional excellence.
- Provide mentorship and leadership in decision-making.
3. Content & Editorial Oversight
- Ensure high-quality, ethical, and community-driven content.
- Maintain compliance with media laws and editorial standards.
- Promote innovative and engaging programming strategies.
4. Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify and secure advertising, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities.
- Lead sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth.
- Prepare tenders, bids, and project proposals.
- Develop strategies for monetizing radio and digital platforms.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with government bodies, NGOs, and private sector partners.
- Represent EPO Media House at events, forums, and donor meetings.
- Negotiate content distribution and partnership agreements.
- Manage donor relations and prepare impact-driven proposals.
6. Strategic & Operational Support
- Assist in media strategy development and execution.
- Provide insights for decision-making and operational improvements.
- Monitor industry trends and maintain competitive positioning.
- Recommend cost optimization and technology upgrades.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communication, Journalism, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Master’s degree (advantage)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in media management, broadcasting, or business development
- Experience in NGO or community media sector preferred
- Proven leadership and tendering/bidding experience
- Age limit: Below 35 years

- Knowledge of digital media and broadcasting tools
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Language Requirements
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English, and French
- Additional languages are an advantage
Employment Details
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Location: Kigali & Rubavu, Rwanda (with occasional travel)
- Start Date: 01 June 2027
- Probation: 3 months
