Job Overview

As an Urban Mobility Solutions Specialist, you will lead the design and implementation of intelligent transportation systems in Rwandan cities. This role combines technical expertise with strategic planning to optimize urban mobility networks while aligning with Rwanda’s Vision 2050 sustainability goals. The position requires collaboration with local authorities, urban planners, and technology providers to deliver scalable smart city solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement smart traffic management systems using IoT and AI technologies
  • Conduct feasibility studies for urban mobility projects including public transit and bike-sharing networks
  • Develop sustainability metrics to evaluate transportation infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with municipal authorities to integrate renewable energy solutions into urban mobility systems
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and government agencies

Required Skills

  • Expertise in urban mobility software platforms (e.g., PTV Visum, VISSIM)
  • Strong analytical skills for traffic flow modeling and simulation
  • Knowledge of Rwanda’s urban development policies and regulations
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping for infrastructure planning

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred (Urban Sustainability or Smart Cities specialization)

Experience

  • 3-5 years in urban mobility project design or implementation
  • Proven experience with smart infrastructure projects in East Africa

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
