Salary: RWF 850,000 – RWF 1,700,000 per month (depending on language proficiency, tourism experience, certifications, and destination expertise)

Position Summary

Thousand Hills Africa Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tourist Guide to lead local and international visitors through Rwanda’s cultural, historical, wildlife, and eco-tourism destinations. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional visitor experiences, ensure guest safety, coordinate tour logistics, and act as a professional ambassador for Rwanda’s tourism sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead guided tours across cultural, historical, and wildlife destinations.
  • Provide informative presentations about Rwanda’s history, traditions, and attractions.
  • Coordinate travel itineraries and visitor schedules.
  • Ensure safety, comfort, and satisfaction of tour participants.
  • Accompany tourists during excursions, safaris, and cultural visits.
  • Assist guests with local travel information and recommendations.

Educational Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Travel and Tourism, Cultural Studies, History, Geography, or related discipline.
  • Professional Tourist Guide Certification preferred.
  • Additional language qualifications are highly desirable.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in tourism, hospitality, customer service, or tour guiding.
  • Strong knowledge of Rwanda’s tourism destinations and attractions.
  • Experience working with international travelers preferred.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
