Job Overview

This role focuses on designing and managing sustainable waste management initiatives in Kamembe, Rwanda. The specialist will lead projects to optimize waste collection, processing, and resource recovery while ensuring compliance with national environmental regulations. Candidates will collaborate with municipal authorities, NGOs, and private sector stakeholders to develop long-term strategies for waste reduction and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement waste management plans for urban and rural areas
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate waste generation patterns and infrastructure needs
  • Coordinate with local authorities to establish recycling and composting programs

  • Design public awareness campaigns to promote waste separation and reduction

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or Public Health

Experience

Salary

500,000 – 800,000 SSP/month, commensurate with experience and project impact.
