Job Overview

The Sustainable Procurement Analyst will lead initiatives to embed environmental and social criteria into Nestlé Rwanda’s sourcing strategy. Working closely with the Global Procurement Center of Excellence, local suppliers, and cross‑functional partners, the analyst will evaluate supplier performance, develop risk mitigation plans, and drive cost‑effective, responsible sourcing solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Assess and integrate sustainability criteria into supplier selection, evaluation, and renewal processes.
• Conduct supplier audits focusing on environmental impact, labor practices, and compliance with Nestlé’s Supplier Code of Conduct.
• Develop and maintain a supplier sustainability scorecard, providing regular reports to senior procurement leadership.
• Collaborate with the Rwandan Ministry of Agriculture and local NGOs to promote responsible farming practices among key raw‑material providers.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities through circular‑economy initiatives, such as waste reduction, packaging optimization, and resource efficiency.
• Support the implementation of digital procurement tools that enhance data transparency and traceability across the supply chain.
• Prepare and present sustainability performance dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data‑visualization tools.
• In‑depth knowledge of sustainable sourcing standards (e.g., ISO 14001, FSC, Fairtrade).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence suppliers and internal teams.
• Project management experience, including the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
• Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda; French is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or a Master’s degree in Sustainable Business are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within the fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. Prior exposure to sustainability projects, supplier audits, or corporate social responsibility programs will be considered a strong asset.

Salary
