Job Overview

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about merging supply chain expertise with environmental stewardship. The Supply Chain Sustainability Specialist will design and implement eco-friendly logistics strategies, ensuring compliance with international sustainability standards while optimizing operational efficiency. This position aligns with Rwanda’s Vision 2050 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sustainability initiatives for supply chain operations
  • Conduct audits to assess environmental impact of logistics processes
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish green procurement policies
  • Monitor carbon footprint metrics and report progress to stakeholders
  • Integrate circular economy principles into inventory and distribution systems

Required Skills

  • Expertise in ISO 14001 or similar environmental management standards
  • Proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle SCM)
  • Strong analytical skills for sustainability data interpretation
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation abilities
  • Knowledge of Rwandan environmental regulations and incentives

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced certification in Supply Chain Management (CSCP) or Environmental Management is a plus.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in supply chain operations with a focus on sustainability. Prior experience in East African logistics environments is preferred.

Salary

3,500,000 – 4,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
