Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and monitoring the financial aspects of solar, wind, and hydro projects across Rwanda. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the analyst will collaborate with engineering, legal, and commercial teams to ensure robust financial modeling, risk assessment, and compliance with both local and international standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models for renewable energy projects, including cash flow forecasts, IRR, and NPV analyses.
- Conduct feasibility studies and sensitivity analyses to support investment decisions.
- Coordinate with project developers, lenders, and stakeholders to secure project financing.
- Monitor project performance against budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management and investors.
- Ensure compliance with Rwanda’s regulatory framework and TotalEnergies’ internal financial policies.
- Assist in negotiating loan agreements, power purchase agreements, and other contractual documents.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of renewable energy market dynamics and financing structures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with Rwandan tax, legal, and regulatory environment for energy projects.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or PMP are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have 3-5 years of proven experience in project finance, preferably within the renewable energy sector. Experience with international financing, public‑private partnerships, and exposure to the African energy market will be valued.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 800,000 to 1,200,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are part of the total compensation package.
