Job Overview

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about renewable energy and project management. The Renewable Energy Project Coordinator will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of wind and solar energy initiatives in Rwanda. The position requires collaboration with government agencies, local communities, and technical teams to ensure projects meet environmental, financial, and operational targets. Candidates will contribute to Rwanda’s vision of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to design and implement renewable energy projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments for proposed sites.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Engage with local stakeholders to address community concerns and promote project benefits.
  • Monitor compliance with national and international energy regulations and safety standards.
  • Prepare progress reports and present findings to senior management and investors.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in project management within the energy or construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (wind, solar, or hybrid systems).
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda is a plus.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. A Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy or Project Management is advantageous.

Experience

3–5 years of experience in renewable energy project coordination, preferably in East Africa. Experience with wind or solar energy projects is required.

Salary

3,500,000 – 4,500,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
