Job Purpose
The MEP Quantity Surveyor will ensure accurate financial planning, cost control, and commercial management of all MEP works during tendering and execution phases. The role ensures projects are delivered within budget while maintaining compliance with contractual and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation & Tendering
- Prepare detailed MEP cost estimates and quantity take-offs during tender stage.
- Develop BOQs, rate build-ups, and pricing strategies.
- Analyze tender documents for risks, gaps, and commercial opportunities.
- Support bid preparation, clarification, and submission processes.
Project Budget & Cost Control
- Develop and manage project budgets aligned with approved tender documents.
- Monitor project costs, commitments, and financial forecasts.
- Track cost performance against WBS and contractual requirements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
Quantity Surveying & Measurement
- Perform detailed measurement and quantification of MEP works.
- Prepare BOQs, measurement sheets, and reconciliation reports.
- Validate subcontractor quantities and progress claims.
- Maintain accurate cost databases and records.
Procurement & Contract Management
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Support procurement decisions and award recommendations.
- Manage variations, claims, and contract documentation.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions (FIDIC preferred).

Reporting & ERP Management

Educational Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
- Or related engineering field

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in:
- MEP Quantity Surveying
- Construction cost control
- Commercial project management
- Strong background in building services and MEP systems.
