Job Overview
The Media Production Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end production of broadcast and digital content for BBC Media Action’s Rwanda initiatives. This role requires a creative professional with expertise in media workflows, project coordination, and cross-departmental collaboration. Candidates must demonstrate a passion for storytelling and a commitment to journalistic integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the production of television, radio, and digital content from concept to delivery
- Collaborate with journalists, editors, and technical teams to ensure content meets editorial standards
- Manage production timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for multiple projects
- Oversee post-production processes including editing, sound mixing, and visual effects
- Develop and maintain relationships with local media partners and freelance contributors
- Implement quality control measures to ensure content aligns with BBC Media Action’s mission and values
Required Skills
- Proven experience in media production for broadcast and digital platforms
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Knowledge of Rwandan media landscape and cultural context
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production, Journalism, Communications, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in media management are advantageous.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in media production, preferably within international or development-focused organizations. Experience working with broadcast and digital platforms in Rwanda is highly desirable.
Salary
500,000 – 700,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
