Job Overview
The Education Technology Implementation Specialist will lead the end‑to‑end deployment of Cisco’s digital learning platforms, including Cisco Webex, Cisco Networking Academy, and related cloud‑based tools, across schools and higher‑education institutions in the Gicumbi district and surrounding regions. This role involves collaborating with school administrators, teachers, IT staff, and government officials to assess needs, design customized implementation plans, and ensure successful adoption and sustainability of technology solutions. The specialist will act as a bridge between technical teams and educational stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into practical classroom applications. By driving effective implementation, the specialist will directly contribute to improving learning outcomes, enhancing teacher capacity, and supporting Rwanda’s national education strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments in schools and colleges to identify technology gaps and learning objectives.
- Develop detailed implementation roadmaps, including hardware procurement, network design, and software configuration.
- Coordinate with Cisco’s technical engineers to install, configure, and test networking equipment, servers, and learning platforms.
- Deliver on‑site and virtual training sessions for teachers, administrators, and IT staff, ensuring they can effectively use Cisco tools.
- Monitor deployment progress, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Education and local NGOs to align projects with national digital education policies.
- Prepare and present regular status reports, performance metrics, and impact assessments to senior management.
- Maintain documentation of configurations, training materials, and best‑practice guides for future reference.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, cloud services, and educational technology platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
- Proficiency in English and Kinyarwanda; French is a plus.
- Familiarity with Rwanda’s education system, curriculum standards, and ICT policies.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Educator (CCE), or similar credentials are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 3‑5 years of experience implementing technology solutions in educational settings, preferably within East Africa. Experience managing multi‑stakeholder projects, delivering teacher training, and working with government agencies will be viewed favorably.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 800,000 to SSP 1,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based incentives, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
