Job Overview

The E‑commerce Operations Manager will lead the end‑to‑end operational workflow of Jumia Rwanda’s online platform, ensuring that order fulfillment, inventory management, and customer service processes run efficiently and meet the highest standards of quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily order processing, ensuring timely picking, packing, and dispatch across all fulfillment centers.
  • Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize stock‑outs and excess inventory.
  • Lead a team of warehouse supervisors, customer service agents, and logistics coordinators, fostering a high‑performance culture.
  • Analyze operational metrics, identify bottlenecks, and introduce process improvements using data analytics.
  • Coordinate with third‑party delivery partners to optimize last‑mile delivery routes and reduce delivery times.
  • Manage the budget for operations, monitor cost per order, and drive initiatives to improve profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Technology team to integrate new tools such as warehouse management systems and AI‑driven demand forecasting.
  • Prepare regular performance reports for senior leadership, highlighting key KPIs and actionable insights.
  • Champion a customer‑centric approach, handling escalations and implementing feedback loops to continuously improve service quality.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and people‑management abilities with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
  • Expertise in e‑commerce operations, supply chain logistics, and warehouse management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI) and a solid understanding of KPI‑driven performance management.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to make data‑informed decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
  • Knowledge of Rwanda’s regulatory environment related to e‑commerce, customs, and consumer protection.
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda; French is a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP) are considered an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five years of progressive experience in e‑commerce operations or a similar role within a fast‑growing retail environment. Experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams and handling high transaction volumes is essential.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 1,500,000 to 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and other incentives.
