Job Overview

The Agricultural Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in transforming raw agricultural data into actionable insights that drive policy decisions, improve farm management practices, and enhance market linkages. Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, the analyst will work closely with field officers, researchers, and technology teams to collect, clean, and analyze datasets covering crop yields, soil health, weather patterns, and supply chain logistics. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and integrate agricultural data from multiple sources, including satellite imagery, IoT sensors, and farmer surveys.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations that communicate trends to stakeholders.
• Perform statistical analyses to identify factors affecting crop productivity and recommend interventions.
• Collaborate with extension officers to translate analytical findings into practical guidance for farmers.
• Support the design of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for agricultural programs.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, donors, and policy makers.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as R, Python, or STATA.
• Experience with GIS and remote sensing data is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to non‑technical audiences.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in agronomy, data analytics, or related fields are advantageous.

Salary
