Job Overview

The Construction Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multimillion‑dollar construction projects in Gicumbi and surrounding regions. Reporting to the Regional Director, the role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and cost estimates in collaboration with design engineers and consultants.
• Lead on‑site construction activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost‑control measures to achieve financial targets.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors, negotiating contracts to secure best value.
• Facilitate regular progress meetings with stakeholders, providing transparent updates and addressing issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with Rwandan building codes, environmental regulations, and CCECC corporate policies.
• Mentor junior engineers and site supervisors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Prepare detailed project reports, documentation, and handover packages for client approval.

Required Skills

• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of construction methods, civil engineering principles, and safety standards.
• Effective communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda; French is a plus.
• Analytical problem‑solving ability to mitigate risks and resolve on‑site challenges.
• Commitment to delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or a recognized construction safety qualification are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of progressive experience managing large‑scale construction projects, preferably within the African market. Demonstrated success in overseeing multi‑disciplinary teams, handling complex contracts, and delivering projects that meet stringent quality and safety benchmarks is essential.

Salary
