Job Overview
The Financial Inclusion Product Manager will lead the design, development, and launch of innovative financial products that address the needs of underserved populations, including low‑income individuals, smallholder farmers, and micro‑entrepreneurs. This role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams—such as digital, risk, compliance, and marketing—to ensure products are compliant, scalable, and deliver measurable social and financial outcomes. The manager will conduct market research, define product roadmaps, and oversee the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, from concept through rollout and performance monitoring. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for financial inclusion solutions, aligning with the bank’s vision and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct in‑depth market analysis to identify gaps, customer pain points, and opportunities for innovative product offerings.
- Collaborate with digital, risk, compliance, and operations teams to design products that are secure, user‑friendly, and compliant with the National Bank of Rwanda guidelines.
- Lead the product development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, prototyping, testing, and launch coordination.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor product performance, making data‑driven adjustments to improve adoption and profitability.
- Engage with external partners, such as fintech startups, NGOs, and government agencies, to co‑create solutions that enhance financial inclusion.
- Prepare business cases, financial models, and risk assessments for new product proposals.
- Train sales and branch staff on product features, benefits, and compliance protocols.
- Gather customer feedback and iterate on product features to ensure continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong product management experience in banking or fintech, preferably with a focus on inclusion‑oriented services.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable product insights.
- Deep understanding of Rwanda’s regulatory environment and financial inclusion landscape.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in digital banking platforms, mobile money ecosystems, and agile development methodologies.
- Strategic thinking combined with a hands‑on execution mindset.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, CFA) are considered an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of product management experience within the banking or financial technology sector, with a proven track record of launching successful inclusion‑focused products.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 800,000 to 1,200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may apply.
