Job Overview
This Water Resource Management Specialist role is part of RWASCO’s initiative to expand water infrastructure in rural Rwanda. The position requires a dynamic individual to design and implement water conservation strategies while ensuring compliance with national environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute water resource management plans for Ruhango district
- Conduct hydrological assessments and feasibility studies for new water projects
- Collaborate with local communities to identify water access challenges
- Monitor water quality and implement pollution prevention measures
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders
Required Skills
- Expertise in GIS mapping and water resource modeling software
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation
- Excellent communication for community engagement
- Project management experience in infrastructure development
- Knowledge of Rwandan water policy frameworks
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
Experience
- 3-5 years in water resource management or environmental engineering
- Previous experience in Rwanda’s water sector is advantageous
Salary
300,000 SSP – 450,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
