Job Overview

The Geological Survey Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting Glencore Rwanda’s exploration initiatives by conducting detailed geological mapping, data collection, and analysis of mineralized zones in the Rulindo region. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys, geological mapping, and sampling across designated exploration blocks in Rulindo.
• Analyze rock, soil, and mineral samples using laboratory techniques and interpret results to identify target zones.
• Develop and maintain GIS databases, geological cross‑sections, and 3D models to support drilling programs.
• Collaborate with geophysicists to integrate geophysical data with geological observations for comprehensive resource assessment.
• Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure all field activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards set by Glencore and Rwandan law.
• Assist in the planning and execution of drilling campaigns, providing geological input for well placement.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and geological modeling tools (Leapfrog, Surfer).

• Ability to work independently in remote field conditions and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Mining Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., Professional Geologist) are advantageous but not mandatory.
