Job Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and strategic Corporate Treasury Analyst to join our team in Muhanga. This role is central to managing the bank’s liquidity, funding, and interest rate risk, ensuring optimal financial performance and regulatory compliance. The analyst will be responsible for daily cash positioning, forecasting, and executing funding strategies to support the bank’s operations and growth objectives. You will analyze market trends, monitor regulatory requirements, and provide insights to senior management on treasury-related matters. This position is ideal for a finance professional passionate about macroeconomic analysis, risk management, and contributing to the financial stability of a leading pan-African institution. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily cash flows, liquidity positions, and funding requirements to ensure the bank meets all financial obligations.
- Prepare and analyze liquidity reports, cash flow forecasts, and treasury performance metrics for management review.
- Execute money market transactions, including interbank placements and borrowings, to manage short-term liquidity.
- Assist in the development and implementation of funding strategies and contingency funding plans.
- Analyze interest rate risk and assist in the management of the bank’s structural balance sheet position.
- Ensure compliance with central bank regulations, statutory reserve requirements, and internal treasury policies.
- Support the management of relationships with correspondent banks, financial institutions, and the National Bank of Rwanda.
- Conduct market research and analysis on economic indicators, interest rate trends, and foreign exchange movements.
- Assist in the preparation of board and ALCO (Asset Liability Committee) reports and presentations.
- Contribute to treasury projects, including system enhancements and process improvements.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
- In-depth understanding of treasury operations, money markets, and banking products.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and reporting requirements in the Rwandan banking sector.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proactive problem-solving ability and strategic thinking.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related numerical field is required. A postgraduate qualification or professional certification such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) will be a significant advantage. Continuous learning in financial markets and risk management is expected.
Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a corporate treasury, liquidity management, or financial analysis role within a commercial bank, financial institution, or corporate environment. Candidates must have hands-on experience with cash management, liquidity forecasting, and regulatory reporting. Prior exposure to treasury management systems and a proven track record of contributing to effective funding strategies are essential. Experience in the Rwandan or East African financial market is highly desirable.
