Job Overview

The Mining Equipment Procurement Manager will lead the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of heavy machinery, spare parts, and consumables essential for Glencore Rwanda’s mining operations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for mining equipment, ensuring alignment with operational targets and budgetary constraints.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify global and regional suppliers, conducting rigorous due‑diligence assessments on financial stability, ESG performance, and technical capability.
• Lead contract negotiations, securing favorable terms, pricing structures, and service level agreements that protect Glencore Rwanda’s interests.
• Manage the end‑to‑end purchase order lifecycle, from requisition approval to delivery verification and invoice reconciliation.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to forecast equipment lifecycle needs, plan preventive maintenance, and schedule timely replacements.
• Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Glencore’s global procurement policies, local regulations, and anti‑corruption standards.
• Prepare detailed procurement reports, cost analyses, and risk assessments for senior management review.
• Drive sustainability initiatives by prioritizing suppliers with certified environmental management systems and low‑carbon footprints.
• Mentor junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, ethical conduct, and data‑driven decision making.

Required Skills

Education

Experience

Minimum of five years of progressive procurement experience within the mining, heavy‑equipment, or industrial sector, including at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

Salary
