Job Overview

The Cloud Solutions Architect will lead the design, deployment, and optimization of scalable, secure, and cost‑effective cloud solutions for Google’s enterprise clients in Rwanda and the East African region. This role bridges business requirements with technical execution, ensuring that solutions meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards. As a senior technical leader, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and sales, to deliver innovative cloud architectures that drive digital transformation. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect end‑to‑end cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tailored to client business objectives.
  • Lead technical workshops and proof‑of‑concept (PoC) engagements with customers, showcasing best practices and innovative services.
  • Collaborate with sales and account teams to develop solution proposals, cost estimates, and migration strategies.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, and data sovereignty requirements specific to Rwanda and the African market.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and competitive offerings to maintain a leading edge.
  • Participate in the development of internal cloud reference architectures, templates, and reusable components.
  • Provide post‑implementation support, performance tuning, and optimization recommendations.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, identity management, and data storage concepts.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Experience with containerization, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional initiatives.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Professional Data Engineer, or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing cloud solutions on GCP or comparable platforms (AWS, Azure). Proven track record of delivering large‑scale, enterprise‑grade projects in sectors such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, or public sector is preferred. Experience working in a multicultural environment and familiarity with Rwanda’s regulatory landscape will be beneficial.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 1,500,000 to 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. In addition to the base salary, Google Rwanda offers performance‑based bonuses, stock options, and comprehensive benefits.
