Job Overview
As a Climate Resilience Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing strategies to enhance climate resilience in vulnerable communities across Rwanda. This position requires a multidisciplinary approach, combining technical expertise in environmental science with project management skills to support climate adaptation initiatives. The role is ideal for professionals passionate about sustainability and equipped to work in dynamic, cross-sectoral environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct climate risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for regional ecosystems and communities.
- Develop and implement climate resilience strategies aligned with national sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with local governments and NGOs to integrate climate adaptation into development projects.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of climate resilience programs using data-driven methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance on sustainable land use and resource management practices.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, including funding partners and policy makers.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in climate change mitigation or adaptation projects.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in GIS or climate modeling software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of Rwandan environmental policies and regulations.
- Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda is preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Climate Studies, Geography, or related field.
- Master’s Degree in Climate Resilience or Sustainable Development is an asset.
Experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in environmental sustainability or climate adaptation.
- Previous project management experience in development or humanitarian contexts.
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
