Job Overview

GreenVolt Energy Solutions seeks a Smart Grid Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize next-generation power distribution networks in Rwanda. This role supports national energy infrastructure upgrades and aligns with global sustainability goals. Explore more Rwanda Jobs at our platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage smart grid infrastructure for urban and rural energy distribution
  • Integrate renewable energy sources (solar, wind) into existing power grids
  • Conduct system audits to improve energy efficiency and reduce transmission losses
  • Collaborate with local utilities to ensure compliance with national energy standards
  • Develop predictive maintenance models using IoT-enabled grid monitoring tools

Required Skills

  • Expertise in SCADA systems and grid automation software
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for power system modeling
  • Certification in Smart Grid Technologies (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills for load forecasting and demand management
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Kinyarwanda

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Systems
  • Master’s Degree in Energy Systems or related field (preferred)

Experience

  • 3-5 years in power systems engineering or smart grid implementation
  • Experience with Rwanda Energy Group (REG) projects (advantageous)

Salary

2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
