Job Overview
AngloGold Ashanti Rwanda is seeking a qualified Mining Geologist to join its exploration team in Gicumbi. This role will focus on identifying new mineral deposits, analyzing geological data, and supporting mine planning initiatives. The position offers opportunities to work in a dynamic, international environment while contributing to Rwanda’s mining sector growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys and collect geological samples for analysis.
- Interpret geological data to identify potential mineral deposits.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize mining operations.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in geological mapping software (e.g., Surpac, ArcGIS).
- Experience in mineral exploration and resource estimation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of mining industry standards and practices.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPG) is an asset.

- 3-5 years of experience in mining or geological survey roles.
- Proven track record in mineral exploration projects.
Salary
500,000 – 800,000 Rwandan Francs (SSP) per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
